AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): Ex-Health Minister Sudip Roy Barman and MLA Ashis Saha visited Battala crematorium area on Wednesday to talk with the agitators who protested last night on funeral of first Covid-19 death.
Barman after talking with the locals said, "This is pathetic that after so much of awareness on social media and news papers, people are still having such mindset. A misconception has been created among the locals, now after talking with them we could successfully clear out the misconception."
Reportedly, On Tuesday evening when the first Covid-19 death, late Biswa Kumar Debbarma's dead body released from hospital and taken to Battala crematorium, locals stopped the Administration and the crematorium worker rejected to touch the body. This created a huge tension in Battala.
Now, after a long talk session with the locals Barman informed that all the misconception has been cleared out and the exequies of the first Covid-19 deceased will be done at Battala crematorium.
