PALATANA/AGARTALA, November 20 (TIWN): Prime Minister's Office has finally given official green signal to govt of Tripura regarding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Tripura on 29th November. On that day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Commercial Generation from the Unit-II of OTPCs 726.6 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Thermal Power Plant. A highly placed sources in the Union Ministry informed TIWN on Wednesday that after continuous requests from Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, PMO has ultimately given green signal to that request. After the return of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Australia, the details of the visit will be finalized. And the state govt is likely to make an official announcement either on 20th November or on 21st November about Modi's visit. A highly placed state govt official told TIWN that though the PMO has given the positive signal, it is yet to be announced as the PM Modi is yet to arrive in India after his 11 days visit from foreign countries. Once he returns the state govt is likely to make it official.
Earlier on Tuesday night Union Minister for State (Independent Charges) of Youth & Sports Affairs Sarbananda Sonwal told TIWN over phone," On 29th November Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive at Agartala by a direct flight from Delhi. From Agartala Airport our PM will go to Palatana by helicopter. After inaugurating the Commercial Generation of Unit-II of of OTPC plant Narendra Modi will address the public gathering inside the plant area. And after this the Prime Minister will leave for Assam. " The Minister also confirmed that PM Narendra Modi's North-East visit will start from Tripura.
To review the preparations of PM visit to Palatana , Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and ONGC CMD Dinesh K Sarraf will arrive at Palatana on 21st November. However, according to a high level official this visit may also be delayed by a day or two as on 20th November Congress has called 12 hours strike across the state. However, ahead of PM Modi's visit activities inside the plant site are now in peak swing. At present welding. painting and repairing works are now going on full fledged. Police too has geared up ahead of PM visit ; especially after the arrest of four suspected terrorists. Police too is on high alert
On Tuesday night, Assam state BJP President Phanindra Sharma told TIWN," On the evening of 29th November PM Narendra Modi will come to Assam . He will stay here for at least two days. And on 1st December PM will leave for Delhi in the afternoon"
