AGARTALA, June 6 (TIWN): With coronavirus cases increasing rapidly in the northeastern states and crossing the 3,000-mark and around 700 in Tripura, the state Governments in the region warned they would take stern action against those violating quarantine norms. With the return of over 3.5 lakh domestic inhabitants from south and north India, there is a surge in coronavirus cases in the eight northeastern states, taking the total positive cases to 3,019, out of which 2,340 are active cases. In Tripura, the fresh case's patients were taken to Agartala Care centres today whereas a new management under TMC medical team started at Hapania Fair field for COVID-19 asymptomatic or mild-symptomatic persons.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has continued his visits to quarantine centres.
Today he visited a quarantine center at Bagmara VC under Ambassa RD Block and interacted with the quarantined persons. Other areas as Baralutma GP Block, East Lembucherra Gram Panchayat.
A brief interaction took place with the Asha and Anganwadi workers and the Chief Minister also interacted with the healthcare staffs and District Administration. Instructed them to take proper care of all quarantined persons.
Recently, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that Tripura might go for tests of all returners to ensure maximum detection of cases.
At least 173 abroad returned persons from Bangladesh, Moscow and Kuwait, who have returned to Tripura are in institutional quarantine, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath.
From Kuwait total 52 persons have returned, from Bangladesh 106 persons returned and from Moscow 15 returned.
All of them are now in Institutional Quarantine under the care of Health Dept. Earlier it was said that all abroad returnees to be in institutional quarantine.
