AGARTALA, June 3 (TIWN): In an inhuman gesture, Ramnagar local people held attacks on the administration when the dead body of the COVID-19 patient was taken to the graveyard and later she was given her last rite in Matinagar Border. SDM Ashim Saha, SDPO Anirban Das were present in Mati Nagar border during the last rites of the deceased. SDM Ashim Saha said, “Today in Ramanagar public turned attacking, saying, she is not a local of that area and also everyone was angry as she was COVID-19 patient. In such a situation, we could not gave her graveyard there. Thus, in Matinagar with local people’s help we are doing the last rites of her”. On being asked by media about how in hospital such a suicide case happened, the SDM said, “I am not the appropriate person to tell you that”.

The COVID-19 patient had committed suicide in GB hospital, before her sample test’s result came out as positive, but there are serious allegation against the hospital authority for not giving her minimum medical support including oxygen, when she was admitted in Flu centre.
