AGARTALA, May 24 (TIWN): BJP which successfully brought a Modi wave in Tripura before 2018 election, gave tremendous promises, now torn apart promises into JUMLA after 2 years of BJP’s rule. BJP’s promise of regularization 10323 Teachers finally turned into their dismissal. The terminated 10323 teachers now in protest at their home, in obey to the National lockdown and not making any gathering outside, left without livelihood as under Supreme Court’s order the teachers were terminated in time (March 31st, 2020). But, before the Election, amid Supreme Court’s scheduled termination of the teachers due to irregularities in recruitment, BJP desperately promised verbally, in written forms to secure 10323 teachers livelihood by hook and crook in exchange of thousands of vote banks. In 2020, when teachers are devastated, as BJP failed to fulfill its promise to the teachers, in COVID-19 crisis period, teachers were arrested, case filed after protests and when sitting at home, the State Govt made an easy escape under the shelter of COVID-19. From Delhi’s Central leaders to Northeast state Assam’s Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, top Central leaders as Sunil Deodhar and even the then Union Finance Minister Lt. Arun Jaitley promised to secure the livelihood of the 10323 teachers as soon as BJP would be voted to power. But the reality after 2 years of the election victory has shocked the former teachers, many died in last 2years amid tension and panic and whereas the jobless teachers are now in protest but can’t raise voice due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, curfews, protocols resulted as cases against the teachers, detention by police.

Hitting the BJP led State Govt, former teacher among 10323 Dalia Das said, “We expect public support for us and our families. Everyone needs food at first for survival. After food, other issues come like treatment, loans etc, but today we are on verge to lose our survival’s hope. It was Education Minister Ratanlal Nath who said that for our survival a petition to be filed, which may secure our lives from jobless situations. Then Chief Minister Biplab Deb announced Rs. 35,000 for us. So, we thought, they might be thinking something for us including our compensation and jobs, but nothing has been done for us. It proves, how much this Govt is neglecting us and how much it is not serious about its own given promises. We have only demand that the Govt to look after us. Many teachers are being harassed to get the Rs. 35,000 but the Govt is fully neglecting us. We beg Govt’s attention for the families who are left in miserable condition after these teachers died”.
