AGARTALA, May 22 (TIWN): After a long time, since 1.0 lockdown imposed nationwide, due to COVID-19 outbreak, Agartala Airport is getting back its life as the flights with stranded passengers started functional gradually. However, it has not been cleared when the normal flight will be started. Talking to the Manager on duty at the MBB Airport, he told media, “Only with ONGC staffs, 2 charter flights of Air India arrived today who were stranded. Both are charter flights. From Mumbai, the first flight has come with 42 passengers and while returning, it will be a connecting flight. In it from around 38 passengers will now go for Mumbai from Agartala MBB Airport now. In the same way, the flight which came from Delhi with around 40 passengers will be returning with around 40 passengers. That is also a joining flight with Dibrugarh. Thus both flights together carried 80 passengers to Tripura and now carrying around 80 passengers from Tripura".

“This boarding system was fully touchless today. From entry point, each part was sanitized. Luggages were operated by themselves and all seated with social distancing. We had full preparedness and minimum staffs were allowed on spot”, he said.

However, the official could not say when the normal flight operation will be started. He said, it fully depends upon the Airport Authority of India.
