AGARTALA, November 17 (TIWN): One BSF jawan of 56th battalion of BOP at Khangtalang border area killed by NLFT firing on Monday noon. Beside one local labourer was killed in firing and left 3 others critically injured.
The incident occurred on Monday noon at around 1:30 pm at khantalang area, some 70 Km away from the Kanchanpur, when one BOP 56th battalion BSF tanker moved towards gate no. 5 from the BOP. When the tanker parked at the gate no.5, some 2 Km away from the BOP near the wire fencing at the border area, some NLFT militants opened sudden fire on the water tanker resulting the wheel of the tanker burst and left one BSF constable Adil Abbas (40) spot dead.
Besides one local labourer Amaran Pawar who was engaged in wire fencing work died in NLFT firing when he was on a move to the hospital. At least 3 others sustained serious injuries. Among the three one local labour Jiten Chakma is now undergoing treatment at Agartala GB Hospital.
However later ater getting news, the North district Additional SP G. Darlong along with huge force rushed to the spot, though no further information could be received yet.
According to locals, since after the construction of the wire fencing at Khangtalang border area, allegedly the concerned BSF jawans remains inactive in their duty. Whereas the NLFT militant has erected their camp just near the border area at Bangladesh, locals informed. However, it is to be mentioned here that during the 2010, June 5th another such firing from the part of NLFT took place.
