AGARTALA, May 13 (TIWN): With total 14 BSF Jawans were discharged from GB hospital, after tested negative (earlier was tested positive) the total numbers of active cases stands 137 but CM announced 1 fresh cases raising the active cases 138. As per rule, they will be now quarantine centre for 14 days before they permanently discharged by Health Dept. Tripura CM has tweeted, “Happy to share that 14 BSF, COVID-19 patients got discharged from GB hospital, Agartala today. Now they will be under surveillance at institutional quarantine center. I pray for the speedy recovery of all the COVID19 patients”. A Doctor has stated that as per Govt of India’s guidelines, the jawans were released from hospital and now after following quarantine, the next steps to be taken.

With this, Tripura has now 138 active cases. Law Minister Ratanlal Nath said that tomorrow also a central team to visit Tripura to take notes on COVID19 situation and after arriving, the team will hold a meeting with Health Dept. Additional Chief Secretary Sanjay Kumar Rakesh the day before yesterday has said that the swab samples of most suspected jawans of the 86th and 138th Battalions have already been tested.

In a respite after ten consecutive days of multiple cases, only two BSF officials on Monday tested positive for coronavirus and on Tuesday 1, taking the total number of positive cases among the para-military troopers and their kin in Tripura to 151. (Today at 11.35 PM added one more case)

The headquarters of both 86th and 138th Battalions at Ambassa were earlier declared a "Red Zone" by the Union Health Ministry after the BSF jawans and their family members tested positive.

The health officials said that most of the infected persons were brought to Agartala and are now undergoing treatment at the state-run Govind Ballabh Pant Medical College and Hospital.

For now, total cases stands 138.
