AGARTALA, May 2 (TIWN): Tripura CM Biplab Deb Deb, who also holds the Health and Home Departments, said in a tweet: "Two persons from Ambassa (northern Tripura's Dhalai District) BSF unit found COVID-19 positive. Total positive cases in Tripura stands at four (two already discharged, so active hospital cases two)." A senior BSF officer said, that one of the two infected persons belongs to Assam and he has been suffering from some ailments after he returned to Tripura from his home state on March 11. Although in various media via sources details on the background of the COVID19’s two patients are being published, but from State Health Dept officials yet to announce official updates as of evening 7pm, Saturday.

Within few hours of COVID19 patients were reported positive, Health Dept already identified 68 persons who came in contact with them. Their samples have been sent for testing. In a press conference, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has said.
National news reports based on top news agencies claimed that at least one of the 2 BSF men tested positive in Tripura is from Assam, entered Tripura on March 11.They were admitted in Kulai hospital from May 1st.

"The ailing jawan and his attending colleague have tested positive for coronavirus at the (Tripura government runs) Govind Ballabh Pant Medical College and Hospital (in Agartala)," the officer said, refusing to be named in an interview with IANS.
With the recovery of the second patient, a 32-year-old Tripura State Rifles jawan and a resident of Uttar Pradesh, on April 25, the Tripura government had declared the northeastern state as novel coronavirus free.
The state's first patient (a 45-year-old woman tested positive for the virus on April 6 after she returned from Assam by train) has already recovered and was discharged on April 15.
With two more fresh COVID19 cases in Tripura, tensions have been erupted across the State. The both fresh cases are of two BSF Jawans, appointed in the Ambassa unit in Tripura, which is in Dhalai District. Tripura was announced in Green Zone, soon turned Orange zone after a driver from Tamil Nadu was tested positive after he left Tripura by dropping 5 persons in 5 days journey, but now confirmed COVID19 cases have frustrated the state, which is already reeling under economic losses.
Earlier one from Gomati Dist and another TSR Jawan from North District were tested positive on April 6 and April 10. They are recovered.
