AGARTALA, May 1 (TIWN): Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has once again requested Tripura school teachers to teach neighboring 5 to 7 students before Govt takes any decision to open schools. He said, all teachers according to their subjects should start teaching local students and those subject can be anything whether Math, Science or language subjects. Ratanlal Nath also urged teachers to keep social distancing during the classes. He further announced that on Monday, a meeting to be held with 20 schools to decide on further plans and actions. Earlier it was planned to hold discussion with 40 schools but now, for social distancing issue, with 20 schools the meeting will be held. Tripura Education Department had planned this pilot project to appoint 1 teacher for neighbourhood’s 5 students in each area of the State.Minister Ratanlal Nath said, if 29,000 teachers of Tripura teach 5 students each, then how many students will be benefited, it can be assumed.
“We have appealed for the project, which was appreciated”, said Ratanlal Nath after a meeting held with Central Education Ministry and Dept.
But social distancing to be must for the project. Already 13 hours of online (recording) classes took place via TV channels with 1 hour per channel is broadcasting in Tripura, the Minister said. Nath also said, he doesn’t know when the schools to be started in full fledged manner but Dept is fully ready for it. Tripura Govt is now broadcasting online classes for students via television channels, but is planning for live telecasts, so that students can interact with teachers.
Tripura Board of Secondary Education has also started copy checking process of held board examinations in 13 centres, whereas the remaining exams will be held after the lockdown is withdrawn.
