AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 27 (TIWN): Tripura Agriculture has been brought back to the life as farmers on Monday across state were seen working on paddy fields by maintaining social distancing. This practice started since State Govt has called for developing primary sectors amid lockdown period by keeping social distancing and following all health guidelines. Keeping the harvesting season ongoing, Govt of Tripura has already geared up to save economy by saving agriculture and other primary sectors and by maintaining social distancing. These agricultural works were announced to be started long back via press conference held by Law Minister Ratanlal Nath. Amid its minimum economic capacity, Govt of Tripura will follow Centre’s guideline in Lockdown but 50% growth to be targeted. But social distancing to be first rule for that. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Sunday has appealed his people to take initiative of developing industries and agriculture to improve the economy in the upcoming post lockdown period. He highlighted on the Dairy Industry, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Flouriculture, and inspired people to take loans as Govt has announced subsidized loan system.
CM said, “Now, it is very important to hold the economy in time. If time flies, then economy will break down and nobody can repair it”.
“Tripura’s most important sector for industrial income is the rubber industry. Around 1500 crores of income Tripura Govt gets per year due to rubber industry but now rubbers are not exporting. In last 2 months around Rs. 250 crores of income stopped. So, we have to wait for rubber incomes and think alternatives”, said CM.
He also challenged to develop farmers’ incomes 10 times than now, adding, nothing is impossible if the will is strong.

CM mentioned about poultry, milk industry can bring massive profits shortening the deadline of the project which was earlier planned. He urged people to take loans and start business.
Deb said, milk industry is such an industry which can give profit by 1 year, Floriculture can give by 6 months.
“Only primary sectors can grow state’s economy fast. For cow purchasing huge subsidies are there with no interest. It is not tough to rear cows which is often misunderstood. This industry is a part of Indian economy from long back”, he said.
CM further motivated pisciculture for industrial growth as huge amounts are gone to other states from fishing industry as Tripura has less fish cultivation.
