AGARTALA, April 25 (TIWN): Tripura Govt ordered inquiry against allegations on COVID19 emergency purchases from a Pune company. On Day 32 of nationwide lockdown, Tripura although gained status of COVID-Free State but Police, Govt enforcing lockdown 24X7, keeping people as much as in homes. Chief Minister has ordered probe in alleged scam of kits purchasing. Tripura Govt has ordered investigation in sanitizer and mask purchasing deals, removing Health Secretary Debasish Basu and NHM Director Aditi Choudhury from posts. In a press meet, Law Minister Ratanlal Nath has announced this, which has shaken the state. The Minister did not mention, whether the both officials are involved in any scam or not, neither told media clearly about any scam happened exactly or not.
But, Additional Chief Secretary S K Rakesh has been appointed as Health Secretary. The investigation will be done by Secretary Kiran Gitte and Finance Secretary Tanushree Debbarma. Ratanlal Nath said, “Few newspapers have alleged corruption in NHM items purchasing. Following those reports, Chief Minister has ordered inquiry. Whoever is responsible will be immediately punished. Such an order by any CM whether given in past, I do not have any such knowledge”.
“I am going to open my mouth tomorrow with all details ! I have documents right now, but let the investigation end. Tomorrow I will make you (Media Persons) surprise”, said Ratanlal Nath to media.
“Health Officers were removed for proper investigation so that they can not do interfere. Let me tell you, a committee is there for monitoring that. Whatever happened was known by the committee. I have told you enough and tomorrow I will expose the whole thing”, Nath told media.

On Friday, various shops illegally opened and police took strict actions against them, arrested many to ensure no one can violate the lockdown rules. At the same time, similar actions were taken place against vehicle drivers for breaking lockdown rules or not wearing masks etc. Hospital goers or medical shop goers were released with display of minimum papers and Chief Minister Biplab Deb has praised Tripura police for their dedicated work carrying food grains till the people, spreading awareness among the masses to stay in homes.
