AGARTALA, April 18 (TIWN): When private hospitals are opening OPDs as free, businessmen are living in tough times, a section of dealers are still in search of extra-profit by fooling beneficiaries from Centre led Free ration stocks. SDM, Agartala Ashim Saha led a big team is on drive against illegal works conducted by ration shops and it has been reported that already 5 ration shops were served with notices and Govt might snatch their license. SDM also checked the hygiene maintenance of ration shops, along with other food shops and actions were taken accordingly. The Govt officials on Saturday also talked to the beneficiaries who rowed up before ration shops. He asked them, whether they are getting all of their deserved items at proper rates or not. Rice is free for 3 months under Central economic package on March 27.

Earlier, Tripura Govt announced, if ILP gas agencies are not taking action to aware masses about 3 month’s free gas cylinders, then action will taken against them too, instructing them to open temporary cooking gas booking counters in village markets.

The Central Government, on March 26, decided free distribution of 5 kg food grains per person and one kg of pulses per household under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana for next three months to 80 crore poor beneficiaries covered under National food security Act (NFSA) to ensure availability food to poor people during lockdown due to COVID-19.

Under NFSA, the government provides 5 kg of food grains per person at subsidised rates. It provides rice at Rs 2 a kg, rice at Rs 3 a kg coarse grains like bajra at Rs one a kg. ThHe beneficiaries will get the free ration over and above the their monthly quota of 5 kg food grains per month, which has been increased to 7 Kg a month for next three months by the cabinet on Wednesday.

“That means beneficiary would be entitled to get 12 kg of food grains per month for next three months. Five kg will be free under PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana while 7 kg will be available at subsidised rates over ration shops.

Thus to ensure a corruption free food supplying till the last row, state administration now on action against evil businessmen.
