High price of commodities hit middle class, poor on Pohela Boishakh

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 14 (TIWN): High prices of commodities have left poor and middle class upset on Bengali New Year that is Naba Barsha.
Vegetable markets however was under control, but problems erupted with non-veg item shops.
The small size Hilsa was although available at Rs. 1200 to Rs. 1500 but the big size fish touched Rs. 1800 and in some places at Rs. 2000. Same, in Agartala mutton prices reached at Rs. 2000 per kilo and all fish items at least were touching Rs. 800 to Rs. 1000 except common few local fishes.
Customers statewide expressed resentment over businessmen's attitude for increasing prices with limited stocks amid lockdown.
