Tripura Police continues 24X7 fight against COVID19 : Gathering busted, Checking going on across street corners : Markets limited with ‘Access Control’ Gates

AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 13 (TIWN): Tripura Police are on duty 24x7 amid Lockdown, not allowing any gathering in any corner of roads, asking public to stay home as much as possible. Today is the Day 20 of Lockdown whereas Prime Minister Modi will address the nation tomorrow 10 am on the 21st Day of National Lockdown. This ongoing lockdown was for 21 days to curb the COVID19 chain, whereas many states’ Chief Ministers demanded extension of Lockdown and it is now speculated that most likely the lockdown will be extended. However, Tripura Govt said, it is fully prepared if the lockdown is extended, but 50% production will be aimed to save. Also, media reported that 15 industries to commerce, vendors, repairing centres may be allowed to open but keeping the social distancing norms active. Police officials were seen across the state with tight security, no allowing unnecessary people without reason to go out. Home Ministry led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb has ordered action against law violators.

At the same time, initiatives of Tripura Police finally brought the crowd in control since Monday morning, opening an Access control entrance for maximum 10 people. Like many other big cities now social distances of buyers by maintaining 1 metre distance have become mandatory in Tripura too. The row-system itself has a psychological effect as public do not throng to markets with unnecessary demands in long rows fears, tested successfully here too.

At the same time preparedness for lockdown extension (if extended) is going on at the Secretary levels ensuring essential commodities services, industry and agriculture, coal imports will be maintained, as otherwise the backbone of the Economy to be broken.

Total 2 cases have been tested positive in Tripura with COVID19 source from Tripura Sundari Express which landed on 19th March, 2020. Both the patients’ health conditions are stable.

Keeping the harvesting season ongoing, Govt of Tripura led by Chief Minister Biplab Deb has geared up to save economy by saving agriculture.

Amid its minimum economic capacity, Govt of Tripura will follow Centre’s guideline in Lockdown but 50% growth to be targeted.

Govt of Tripura will start 50% industrial production if lockdown is extended, said Health Secretary Debasish Basu to media on Saturday.
