GARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 11 (TIWN): TIWN's field coverage this morning in Agartala markets Battala Market at 8.30am, Gol Bazar at 9am exposed public lackluster attitude on social distancing.  On Saturday, mass gatherings were observed in Agartala city’s various markets Go bazar, Battala Markets amid police’s much request to keep social distance. In spite of State Govt and Police Dept's dedicated work in controlling social distancing, but various vegetable markets turned hotbed of social activity. On Friday, it was LPG gas agencies where mass gathering was observed erupted public resentment and today markets are seen crowded like hell. According to the latest update by the Union Health Ministry, India's total number of coronavirus positive cases has reached 7, 447, including 6565 active cases, 643 cured/discharged/migrated. In spite of Central Govt is reviewing the lockdown situations, already many states extended lockdown period, PM Modi held meeting with Chief Ministers of all states on lockdown extension issue but public hardly show any sympathy to the Govt and thus continue to break the protocols everyday.

On the other side, Tripura witnessed the second COVID19 case.

COVID19 Second Patient is Stable and Healthy, said a Health Dept official here on Saturday. The COVID19 positive 32 years old TSR Jawan from Madhya Pradesh most likely visited his home and was returning via Tripura Sundari train, which landed in Tripura on 19th March, 2020, suspected as the main carrier of the virus. Since he landed in Dharmanagar Railway Station he was in TSR cam but as soon as the first COVID19 Patient was admitted and Health started screening of all patients, with others, the person was in quarantine. Chief Minister Biplab Deb has asked public not to panic over the situation, advising them to ‘Stay Home’. He is the second Coronavirus victim of Tripura after a 45 years old man  was found positive in state.

The train which travelled from Guwahati on 19th March, 2020 had tested the first corona-virus patient on April 6 and today after 4 days another patient was found who travelled via same train.

At the same time, Tripura’s NTH-2 Block of AGMC and GBP Hospital, Agartala has been notified as dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH).

 In a notification, Health Secretary Debasish Basu has said, “In pursuance of the guiding principle of COVID19 management, issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India, it has been decided to notify NTI building of IGM Hospital Complex as Dedicated COVID Healthcare (DCHC) which will offer care only for cases that have been clinically assigned as mild and moderate cases of COVID19 confirmed cases. NTH-2 Block of AGMC and GBP Hospital, Agartala has been notified as dedicated COVID Hospital (DCH), which will offer comprehensive care primarily for those COVID confirmed patients, who have clinically assigned as severe”.

The notification further stated, “The algorithm and SOP as specified for isolation of suspect / confirmed cases of COVID-19 as per the management plan issued by MoHFW shall be strictly adhere to in those dedicated hospitals”.

In Northeast total cases are 33 whereas Assam had reported the first death on yesterday.
