AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, April 4 (TIWN): “Citizens Collective Against COVID-19†led by Tripura’s eminent lawyer Purushottom Roy Barman and other Lawyers Mrinmoy Chakraborty, Kawsik Nath and Koushik Das distributed essential supplies among the contractual Sanitation Workers who work under ‘No Work, No Pay’ policy.
Due to COVID-19 led 21 days long national lockdown, these workers livelihood is halted and they don’t have proper food to survive. In this situation, today morning 7am to 8.30am at the Tripura University, essential commodities were distributed.
In a press note it’s stated, “Citizen's Collective Against Covid19 distributed Rice/Dal/Soyabin/Potato among Sanitation Workers working as contractual labour as "No Work, No Pay". We also distributed the same among 15 poor men and women of the Suryamaninagar village”.
The Citizen’s Collective is an apolitical group formed to fight COVID-19 in state jointly with the state.
