AGARTALA, April 3 (TIWN): Tripura Congress has demanded a financial package to battle the crisis existing among poor and daily workers’ lives due to the lockdown.
Congress also has formed a taskforce to help the poor.
Addressing media, Congress leader Subal Bhowmik said that nothing has been clearly said by the State Govt about what it is going to do for the poor.
He said, when allowances are said to be given together for 2 months, what the poor will do in the coming months ? Where is Govt’s special contribution ?
Talking about the free ration, Subal Bhowmik said that already poor people get Rs. 2 per kilo rice and now they are giving Rs. 1 to purchase rice, which means Govt is giving merely Rs. 1 to the families ? Where is financial package ?
“What is central govt doing ? It has not even cleared the pending wages of the daily workers”, said Subal Bhowmik.
