No impact of Corona-virus on upcoming Assembly Budget session from March 20

AGARTALA, March 16 (TIWN): Amid Corona-virus outbreak and Govt announced schools, colleges to be shutdown, no impact will be for now in the state’s budget session, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath. In BAC meeting the decision has been taken. 7 days budget session will be started from March 20, said Law Minister Ratanlal Nath as the Tripura Assembly is scientific and has atleast 1 metre distance is there between each benches. He said, if anything serious happens, then Govt will think whether to restrict the Assembly or not. However, Ratanlal Nath has referred other state’s decisions comparing them with Tripura’s situation and alerted, in case of emergency, immediate decision will be taken.

Due to Corona-Virus outbreak, Govt of Tripura has shutdown all schools, colleges further restricting all types of mass gathering, rallies and protests. Screening to be continues in terminals from Railways stations to Airport, Motorstands. Schoolwide today alerts were sounded, training was given to the students about dos and don’ts.

India has been evacuating its citizens from Covid-19-hit countries. “These evacuees are quarantined at the ITBP camp at Chhawla, as per protocol. In addition, the third batch of 236 evacuees from Iran has arrived today. They are being quarantined at the Army facility in Jaisalmer. They have already been tested prior to their departure from Iran. All are reported to be asymptomatic at present," the Union health ministry said.  In the first two flight operations from Iran, the Indian government had evacuated 102 citizens.  A total 265 passengers from Covid-19-affected countries have been quarantined at Thiruvananthapuram, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.  Union minister of health and family welfare, Harsh Vardhan, on Sunday reviewed the status and the action taken by the states, and advised them to maintain hygiene and cleanliness in hospitals and adhere to all protocols for containment and management of Covid-19.
