AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Feb 27 (TIWN): In an embarrassing situation for Govt of Tripura, High Court has issued notice to the Govt of Tripura over unpaid amounts to Agartala Flyover construction company. The petition was filed in High Court by the company followed by a case was registered in the NCC PS after Govt didn’t take any step to clear the pending bills after 2018, May month. In the first hearing pronounced by Chief Justice Akil Abdulhamid Kureshi, State Govt was asked to give reply by two weeks.Reportedly, for now the company has demanded to clear Rs. 46,93,72000.Advocate Sishir Chakraborty said that the Flyover and also Katakhal bridge both are functioning but State Govt is not clearing the bill yet. On 19th February, 2020 they company gave the last letter to PWD and no reply came. Earlier, PWD said that the dept has no fund.

Here, once more it is proven that MLA Sudip Barman questioned rightly to CM Biplab Deb why Govt without tender gave national Highway project to an outsider company which could easily earn huge revenue from Rs. 450 crores of central funds if taken by PWD. It could easily earn revenue of more than Rs. 40 crores and by not doing this, Tripura Govt has increased taxes and burdened the common men.

It can be noted here, BJP Govt wanted to file corruption case against Flyover but after many attempts no question on the quality of the construction could be spotted. 

Earlier this company worked on IGM, Palatana Power Plant, Airport, NIT building but this is the first time that the company had to knock court’s door.

Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb’s department is involved allegedly in a massive tender corruption, which was exposed by his own party MLA in the Assembly.

The major scam was to handover projects without tender. Allegedly, Delhi based corrupt officials and even few politically power top leaders are accused in nexus of the recently exposed national highway tender scam and also cancer medicine purchasing scam.

In 23 months of BJP Govt along with various other scams as recruitment scams, two departmental scams came out, which have hit the public trust further on the Govt.

After cancer medicine scam was exposed after a verdict in High Court, now BJP Govt’s own MLA Sudip Barman had raised question on tender-allocation corruption in causing a scam of Rs. 450 cores.

But no action was taken according to expectation as after the Dept is held by Chief Minister himself.

It is said in the allegation that whereas from 2015-16, 2016-17,2017-18 FYs continuously we were conducting the national highway construction, maintenance works by State PWD, but what suddenly in 2018-19 after BJP Govt in an urgent mode, handed over the national highway construction project to outside company that is NHIDCL without tender which has costed massive revenue incomes. Also that decision was not taken in Cabinet and without tender handing over projects is obviously a serious crime.
