AGARTALA, Dec 20 (TIWN): The BJP led State Govt has appointed Amit Rakshit as the Sports Council Secretary, against whom media brought allegation of domestic violence.

In December 2019, the report on Domestic violence flashed in media, whereas Amit Rakshit did not give any clarification of that news, neither opposed the report.

Without clarifying or denying those charges, how can a person be given such a big responsibility it has triggered questions on ethical side of the State Govt.

His appointment was announced by Manoj Kanti Deb, the Sports Minister today.

However, addressing media, Amit Rakshit said that he wants the Sports Sector not only be dependent on State Govt but will focus to generate revenue.

Amit Rakshit is also BJP State Secretary and name has come out for torturing his wife physically after his wife allegedly filed FIR in state police station.

FIR was lodged against Amit Rakshit for domestic violence by his wife. Amit Rakshit’s alcohol consuming is another allegation lodged in FIR against him.

Reportedly, after the FIR was lodged, Chief Minister cum BJP State President Biplab Deb himself involved with Amit Rakshit to hide the whole issue from media and police were too instructed to keep the secrecy back in 2019, December.

Allegation raised, calling the victim at CM's residence, Deb himself asked her to withdraw the FIR.

The FIR was lodged in West Agartala Women Police station on 15th December, 2019.
