Agartala, November 10 (TIWN): A delegation of CITU Women wing led by social activist Panchali Bhattacharjee submitted the five -point charter of demands to the Sub divisional District Magistrate, Sadar- Manik lal Das, here today .The movement was mainly organized by three organizations namely ICDS, Asha worker sand Midday meal workers.
On Monday, a delegation led by Social activist, Panchali Bhattacharjee started rally from the CITU office, located at Office lane. After through a rally, they had submitted deputation to the SDM. The prominent points of their deputation are:
1. Non activation of “Samahar Sangsadhan”. Though it was earlier passed in the Parliament. But the wing was still against the activation of this act.
2. It is to be mentioned here that earlier it was decided that IcDs workers should be handed over to the NGOS and Panchayats. The ratio will be 90:10, i.e. NGO’s- 90% and Panchayat’s 10%. But the federation demanded that if this process were being implemented, then there will be no assurance of their employment security.
3. Pension wage, assurance of security.
4. Rs 15,000 per month wage to the midday meal workers and Asha workers.
5. Social Security.etc.
