AGARTALA, Feb 18 (TIWN): CPI-M rallies in Tripura were attacked by ruling BJP members, police prevented rally proceeding in various places including Agartala.
In Bishalgarh subdivision amid police’s much attempts to control the peace, the BJP activities allegedly attacked CPI-M’s rally, whereas in Agartala, the rally was stopped in a spot by police. In this condition, CPI-M held the rally in the prevented place only as this is not the first rally which was stopped by the state police but under Biplab Deb Govt, opposition parties rallies are prevented in maximum cases.
Politburo member Nilotpal Basu who is visited the state addressed the gathering. During his speech, he asked Modi Govt to collect Tax from Corporate sections when the whole country is reeling under such crisis situations. He raised question, why instead of collecting taxes from them (Corporate), the Govt is slashing budget for important departments including Education ?
“Continuously unemployment rate is increasing in states. After independence, this is the highest unemployment rate which is created under Modi Govt”, he said further criticizing demonetization, GST imposed by the Modi Govt time to time.
Talking about the Vision Document, Basu raised question, why the State BJP Govt has failed to fulfill those promises ?
