AGARTALA, Feb 15 (TIWN): Health services are getting worse to worse in Tripura, deteriorating rapidly, especially in sub-centre level but Chief Minister Biplab Deb, who sacked former Sudip Barman from the Ministry and took control of the Health Sept, has no concern, no time as he alone holding 27 departments along with no basic knowledge and pre-experience of holding Ministry and thus no ‘guess’ how to run this important department. Amid multiple allegations, raised for extreme negligence of doctors towards a baby caused its death after vaccination at the Biramganj area’s local sub-centre. The baby boy’s young father broke down in cries after nurses handed-over its lifeless body. This 2 months old baby was born on December 5, 2019 in IGM hospital, died today after his fever went high and pneumonia gripped the baby.

The father of the baby Khokon Tripura, resident of Rampada ADC village, Sonamura said, “After my baby was born on December 5, 2020, Doctors asked me to bring my baby after 1 and half month for vaccination, but my baby was suffering from fever and also cold. So, I skipped the vaccination. Then from hospital they called me on January 5 to complete the vaccination process. I told them that it may be risky as it has fever and cough. They asked me to go to the Rampada sub-centre centre and after confirming from the that nothing will happen to my baby, the vaccination was done. But on the next day, light fever came to my baby and I immediately took precaution and took my baby to Bisramganj hospital. Then I brought him in Hapania’s TMC hospital but Hapania didn’t admit him as situation turned serious. Then it was brought in IGM hospital but Doctors even after much attempts could not save the baby”.

The subcenter staff’s name is Asish Das who allegedly  vaccinated the baby.

Vaccination amid fever caused the death, such has been alleged by the patient party but the actual cause of death yet could not be known to media clearly, but pneumonia was confirmed.

Health Dept is very important and immediately needs a Minister to hold it.
