AGARTALA, Feb 2 (TIWN): The CPI-M Party on Sunday has hit the Human Rights Commission over its total silence on the custodial murders in Tripura Police Stations and Central Jail.
Addressing media at the Melarmath Party office, CPI-M State Secretary Gautam Das said that this is not acceptable that the Human Rights Commission would remain silent over Govt’s failures even after such horrifying deaths in the custody.
“Why one has to complain to the Human Rights for taking action ? It is the duty of Human Rights Commission to take appropriate action”, Gautam Das told media.
Das further said that Magisterial investigations are nothing but eyewashes.
He further hit the BJP Govt accusing it has snatched public voice, media voice and there is no right to speak in the state. Even opposition MLAs do not have right to speak in the Assembly.
He said even lawyers do not have right to speak, neither the opposition can hold rallies but when it is about the BJP, then no permission is needed to do any programme or to stage any demonstration.
