AGARTALA, Jan 15 (TIWN): Modi Govt’s ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ in full wave but the negative impact in Tripura as after various domestic violence incidents were reported from top leaders’ families along with sexual harassment cases, now one housewife was raped by a local BJP leader named Samir Debnath. Reportedly, the BJP leader (also Pristhapramukh) is son of local BJP leaders, as his parents both are involved in Politics with the ruling BJP. Addressing media, victim said, “On January 13, along with my husband he came to my home. Samir Debnath was asking my husband that a trip is there to Jirania, whether my husband will go there or not and offered my husband that huge profit will be made and all the earned money given to my husband".

"As soon as they were on the bridge, he gave the car to my husband to drive. When my husband went for the trip, he entered my room which was forgot to lock from inside. I just had fed my baby milk and was sleeping and suddenly he entered my room and pressed my mouth, raped me”. 

“I don’t know Samir Debnath personally, but if meet on the way, I used to called him as “Barda” (elder brother). When my husband caught him red handed and called his guardian, his guardian instead of their son, started badmouthing against me. They said, I called their son. Not only this, they also beaten my parents and my in-laws”, said the victim.

“They were going to file false case against us and today the BJP local leaders came to our home and urged not to file any case. But we want justice”, said the victim.

Victim’s father said, “My daughter’s dignity was hurt which will not come back. We want justice. No compromise. We did medical in the hospital and report is clear that it was rape. We have filed a complaint in the Women PS. The police said, they will give us justice and we have full evidence”.
