1,100 ‘Gram Sevak’ to be appointed as bridge between Police and Locals in Tripura, Recruitment Process Unknown yet

AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has announced that around 1,100 Gram Sevaks will be recruited in the state soon. He made the announcement while commencing of Police Week Parade at Manoranjan Debbarman Stadium at Agartala this morning.

Biplab Deb Deb said, the step is to bridge the gap in relationship between Police and Public and particularly to maintain law and order in village areas.

The Chief Minister further lauded state police’s activities in controlling issues of drug-related illegal activities in the state. He said, with the state police’s ness and taking action timely, the number of crime rate has been decreased.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister took salute from 10 March pass contingents of Tripura police.

Best policemen awards and trophies’ were distributed under different categories during the ceremony.

Later in the evening, Biplab Deb. Deb will inaugurate the Police Gallery at Tripura State Museum which has been set up by Tripura Police. The gallery has been set up to showcase the sacrifice of police martyrs, the achievements, and the evolution of the Tripura Police. As part of the observation, Tripura police has organized voluntary blood donation camps at different places.
