NEW DELHI / AGARTALA, Dec 24 (TIWN): BJP MP, indigenous leader who was threatened by banned terrorist organization and slammed by his own community’s people after voting for Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), making it successfully an ‘ACT’, Tripura MP Rebati Tripura mentioned, as whip instruction was to vote for CAB for there was no space for him to discuss, however, he said Central BJP Govt knows all the issues and what’s going on inside the state. Tripura said that he will talk to CM and upper levels leaders about the threat given to him.Rebati Tripura said, “This is really a matter of concern when a banned terrorist organization is active againâ€. Addressing media, Rebati Tripura said that there is whip in every party and if anyone votes against that whip, what would be the outcome is known to all. Tripura pointed out, “I just not followed the instruction blindly only due to political direction but also I think CAA can stop further illegal migrations. I am continuously trying to develop my people by arranging more infrastructure in the ADC area form railway to roadway and schools, collegesâ€.
“I didn’t betray anybody of my community. I do believe that my step further has strengthened the chances of further immigrations and also to stop them who are illegally entered in this country. Central Govt knows very well about the insecurity of the indigenous people whereas CAA will not be imposed in the indigenous / ADC areas”, he said.
The National Liberation Front of Tripura is a banned terrorist organisation based in Tripura, India. It has an estimated 550 to 850 members. The NLFT seeks to secede from India and establish an independent Tripuri state, and is an active participant in the Insurgency in Northeast India. The banned rebel outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) has sent a notice on East Tripura MP and BJP leader Rebati Tripura, accusing him of 'betraying' the indigenous people by voting in support of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in Parliament.
NLFT also stated that the MP should be socially boycotted.
The letter, signed by NLFT secretary general D Uomthai, stated that Rebati was unfit to be an MP.
According to the letter, because the MP supported the CAB so he is a traitor as at a time when illegal immigrants are 'tearing apart' the lives, culture and economy of tribal people in Tripura.
