AGARTALA, Dec 12 (TIWN): Via a press meet, CPI Sardar Agartala divisional Council raised demand of withdrawal of controversial Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB).
The CPI Sadar divisional council was supposed to conduct a protest meeting against CAB near Agartala City centre today. But police administration requested the CPI leadership not to hold the said meeting at this present juncture due to unstable law and order situation prevailing in the State.
After the rally was cancelled, CPI in a press meet, said the bill is totally anti constitutional and against the plurality of India.
CPI feels just to divert the mind of people from economic disorder, atrocities on women BJP govt intentionally brought this bill just to please RSS and spread venom among people. CPI condemned the state govt complete failure in controlling law and order situation in the state.
CPI also expressed its full support and solidarity to the people of Assam against their movement against CAB and and also expressed full support to all organizations and political parties who are flighting against CAB countrywide. The CPI also urged to carry on peaceful movement against CAB and maintain Peace and harmony among people. The CPI also condemned the police lathi charge on Youth Congress rally and Press media on 11th December near Post ofc Chowmuhani. CPI State Asst Secretary Yudhisthir Das, CPI Sadar Divisional Secretary Milan Baidya, CPI leader Tulsi Das Kapali and Bikramjit Sengupta was present in the Press meet.
