AGARTALA, Dec 7 (TIWN): In states like Uttar Pradesh where literacy rate is always disappointed, encouraged violence, illiterate political tricks, but so far 98% literacy rate holder state Tripura didn’t entertain any cow-politics, amid Godi media’s much attempts. So far BJP Govt has not withdrawn its decision of shutting down of 961 schools, downing the spirit of Education, undoubtedly to raise illiteracy rate. With this move of the Govt illiteracy would surely increase in this state in the coming days by ensuring no school at per km, raised question, is BJPi’s new India is dedicated to depriving mass education when the Govt is also targeted to privatization of Education and increasing higher education fees. The answer is “yes” as the educated generation are not accepting here in Tripura about RSS’s theories like “internet was existing in Mahabharata’s time” and “Indian cows produce golds”.

This decision was taken when thousands of unemployed youths are roaming jobless even after qualifying the TET Examination. Instead of recruiting teachers and staffs to mitigate the massive unemployment rate, Govt has taken decision to minimize numbers of schools and thus decade-long struggles of common men which constructed 961 schools across hills and plain areas of Tripura were announced to shutdown, which is another black-history painted by the BJP Govt by three factors losses to the common men.

However, in damage repair Govt has announced transportation cost will be carried by the Govt.

The DSO held a massive protest in Agartala voicing against the decision of State Govt for shutting down on 961 schools.

Democratic Students Organization (DSO) State Secretary Ramprasad Acharjee said that when in British colonized India, Iswarchandra Vidyasagar from his own expense started various schools and now after getting this hard-earned independence Govt here is trying to minimize schools numbers.

“The excuse of numbers of students is not acceptable. If within per kilometer schools are not located, how poor students will study there ? The Educational environment will also be affected”, said Acharjee.

With all these DSO has demanded the Govt of Tripura must withdraw the decision of shutting down of schools. A protest was staged before the Education Dept.

On October 25, Tripura Education Minister Ratanlal Nath has announced to shutdown 961 schools by merging them with other schools in the name of "Quality Education". This decision was taken when thousands of unemployed youths are roaming jobless even after qualifying the TET Examination.
