AGARTALA, Dec 3 (TIWN): Petrol prices in Agartala have been turning more volatile, as prices of crude oil have been showing a firm trend.

Today’s petrol price in Agartala ₹ 75.56 (3rd December 2019) and the diesel price Rs. 67.86.

The rupee has also moved lower against the dollar, which has made petrol prices in Agartala more expensive than before. It is hoped that the government can reduce excise duties, so as to enable rates to become more cheaper in the coming days.

Delhi : State-run oil marketing companies on Tuesday (December 3) chose to keep the retail prices of petrol and diesel stagnant for the second successive day across major cities of the country. In national capital Delhi, a litre of petrol today costs Rs 74.91 while diesel costs Rs 65.78 per litre, no change compared with Monday’s price.

The pump prices of fuel are the cheapest Delhi among all metros and most state capitals due to lower taxes. As per the country’s daily pricing mechanism, the prices of fuel in India are dependent on the international crude prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee. On Monday, the Indian rupee settled 8 paise higher at 71.66 against the US dollar amid market participants expecting the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will go for another rate cut in the ensuing policy review on December 5.
