Narayanswami likely to visit Tripura this month: Congress to stage statewide protest movement from tomorrow

AGARTALA, November 2 (TIWN): The newly appointed AICC General Secretary Mr. V. Narayanswami is likely to visit the State in November. The final date of his arriving is yet to be fixed; working president of Tripura Pradesh Congress- Asish Saha informed this to TIWN on Sunday. However, a mass protest movement is scheduled to be organized by the Tripura Pradesh Congress against various ongoing issues from tomorrow. Speaking to TIWN, Saha informed that from Monday, PCC will launch mass protest against the scam, corruption and crime on women all over the state. It will be organized on the State level and all the sixty blocks. “This is the beginning. We will go for a massive protest to press the demands”, he further added. On the other hand, Saha also alleged that many leaders and cadres of ruling CPI (M) are linked with the ongoing scam, corruption and torture on women.

It is to be mentioned here that a meeting in this regard was held at Pradesh Congress Bhavan in presence of all the Councilors and top level Congress leaders where it was decided the to conduct protest rallies. Besides, protest meetings would be organized by the District Congress President and block level Congress leaders of respective Assembly Constituencies. On the other hand, tenure of their protest was not finally decided.

Meanwhile, AICC General Secretary is likely to arrive in the State in the middle of this month. It may be guessed that some major points of discussion will be highlighted during Narayanswami’s visit. However, Ahead of newly appointed AICC general  secretary V. Narayanswami’s visit to the state, the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) yesterday declared jumbo committees for four districts- Sadar, Belonia, Bishalgarh and Ambassa.

Balai Goswami, a proven loyalist of CLP leader Sudip Roy Barman has been made president of Sadar District Congress Committee while seven general secretaries including Prado Chanda, Shyamal Paul, Rakesh Deb, Sujan Debnath, Rahul Saha, Biswajit Saha and Tapas Dey.Amal Mallik have been elected. Another loyalist of CLP leader would head Belonia District Congress Committee as president. He also got a jumbo panel- eleven vice presidents, nine general secretaries, ten secretaries and thirteen members.

In a press release it was declared PCC president DC Hrangkhawl has appointed Avijit Deb, a hardcore follower of CLP leader as president. He has got another jumbo committee- fourteen vice presidents, eleven general secretaries, ten secretaries and twenty-two members. Manoj Kanti Deb, a trusted follower of party’s heavyweight leader Birajit Sinha has been made president of Ambassa District Congress Committee. The party’s district panel includes five vice president, five general secretaries, five secretaries and seven executive members.
