AGARTALA, November 02 (TIWN): All India Trinamool Congress General Secretary Mukul Roy would be visiting Tripura in the first week of December to take stock of the current state of affairs of the party, said Tripura Trinamool Congress Chairperson Ratan Chakraborty here today.

Speaking to TIWN here this afternoon, TMC Tripura state chairperson Ratan Chakraborty said that the people of state have lost their faith in congress and CPIM. Ratan lashed out at the state government for wrong policies and mis-governance, stating that CPIM government has completely failed to check rise in prices of essential commodities.

"We have already launched a strong movement against the CPIM and discard the politics of Congress. We have no doubt in snatching power from the CPIM in the next Assembly elections in this state," he mentioned. “Our leader Mukul Roy would be visiting the state to take stock of the latest situation and suggest new measures that might be pertinent”, he added.

He criticized the CPIM government over issues of spurious-drug, atrocities against women, corruption, malfunctioning of PDS, chit fund, deterioration of law and order, underdevelopment of tribal people and deprivation of employees during the agitation.

Ratan also criticized the tight-lipped gesture of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar over the increasing crimes and vowed to intensify party’s agitation across the state. He also urged the public to condemn the role of Chief Minister, who also holds the Home portfolio. The 21-year misrule has resulted in the state being labeled the least developed state in the country. Corruption has mushroomed in every sphere, he claimed.
