KAMALPUR, November 1 (TIWN): TSECL Kamalpur division is having a tough time to cop with the endless irregularities and embezzlement. And adding to it, once again the Audit team visited the office of the DGM and seized many documents. According to sources, the Audit team first enquired about two bills of 72,000 and 38,000 rupees respectively both of which were expensed as Office expenses.

They found massive irregularities in both the expenses. Moreover, to suppress the embezzlement, the bill amounting 72,000 rupees was sanctioned and disbursed from Salema subdivision, though the expense was done for Kamalpur subdivision. The DGM failed to produce any satisfactory reason for such irregularities. Then the Audit team enquired about, the extension of connectivity in remote areas and Border Lighting Project works at Joshitilla and Krishnatilla areas. This time too, the DGM tried to make up all the things but failed. Ultimately, the Audit team seized ten types of documents from the DGM office.

They seized documents of

1) Statement of facts,

2) Work details

3) Funding or Source of fund

4) Records of estimate of work

5) Sanction authority of the estimate

6) Expenditure sanction and Administrative approval of the work

7) Details of work executor

8) Details of records of Measurement Books

9) Person entrusted/assigned for execution of the work with name and designation

10) Person responsible for supervision of the work.

Infact, all these documents are in relation with five works mainly. The works specially under the Audit’s jurisdiction are 1) Rakesh BOP MDTW (Phase-I and II), 2) Internal Electrification of Kamalpur ESD office, 3) Mini Bio-fertiliser Production Centre at Kalachari No.-3 ( Phase-I and II), 4) Bidyamohan Para MDTW and 5) IBBFL( Indo-Bangla Border Flood Lighting) Connection- Reang Forward BOP/ Krishnatilla BOP/ Laxmanchari BOP to Malaya BOP. The corrupt officials and contractors of TSECL are now in great fear of impending proceedings for embezzlement. If the Audit do their duty honestly or not is the matter to be seen.
