AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): Anupam Sinha who was arrested from Manipur for commenting against BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik in facebook was produced before court on the same day of arrest but gets bail after oneday of JC, whereas police remand plea rejected.
Anupam Sinha was arrested on 13th October by West Agartala PS and police produced him before court on the very day. Court sent him for one day JC. On the other side, West Agartala police demanded police remand for Anupam Sinha but was rejected.
Once again, it proves that internet users’ arrests are violation of Supreme Court’s guidelines and in this case moreover, a 3rd person named Sunit Sarkar filed case whereas Pratima Bhowmik herself supposed to file the case.
On October 13, Sinha was detained by Tripura Police from Manipur after he commented against BJP MP Pratima Bhowmik.
Police came in quick action when one Sunit Sarkar filed a case against one Anupam Sinha in the West PS, Agartala.
From Manipur, Anupam Sinha was arrested, said West PS OC-Debaprasad Roy.
This arrest is according to Supreme Court’s guideline is however “Illegal”. Earlier, police arrested Tripura Journalist, internet users in same allegation but what is funny in this circle is that till today Tripura Police could not take action against Pratima Bhowmik who gave murder threat to an IPS officer on camera.
Earlier, one Dipak Debnath was arrested without FIR from his home at night 2 am by police for sharing TIWN news against a BJP MLA and then BJP’s former IT cell head Anupam Paul, TV Channel Editor Saikat Talapatra were arrested illegally. IN last 2 months 400 youths were harassed by police in same issue for their posts against the BJP Party leaders.
