AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): SUCI has staged a protest before TSECL office today demanding immediate withdrawal of hiked tariff which is becoming burden on the common men.
SUCI State General Secretary Arun Bhowmik said that Govt’s transport cost and various pending bills have been imposed on the common men as power tariff which immediately should be removed.

Bhowmik also said that Tripura’s power generation cost is lower than other states as the power generation dependent on hydro-projects.
It has been known from Finance Ministry that 80% of generated power in Tripura are sold outside.
Power Dept which has decided to hike electricity tariffs at 7.5% which will be used to kick of further developmental works, also is signaling how so far no funding is happening under the Modi Govt for state Tripura unlike the UPA era which helped each state via negotiation in Planning Commission.
