AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Former Minister Manik Dey has blasted Tripura Police and Govt officials after they entered in Melarmath Party office without any search warrant.

An unannounced raid was held in Melarmath party office with these 3 officials :

1) Executive Magistrate Rinku Reang

2) SDPO Anirban Das

3) SDPO Druva Nath

But when asked nobody could show any paper. Reacting over Rinku Reang’s who was raiding with police at the top floor without warrant, Manik Dey asked how without any paper they are searching an authentic party office  and entered in that area ??

Later it was known that they came to search for former CPI-M PWD Minister Badal Choudhury amid court’s objection to arrest Badal Choudhury before the final hearing against whom police brought PWD corruption allegations during his Ministry.

On the other side, reacting over police’s illegal raid in CPI-M state headquarter in Melarmath, without search warrant and Court’s order not to arrest former Minister Badal Choudhury till final hearing comes, Advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said this is gross violation of law and disobeying of court’s order committed by police.

Addressing media, senior advocate Purushottom Roy Barman said, “Have you seen police’s activeness in this illegal activity ? Ofcourse the judge ordered before the Public Prosecutor not to arrest Badal Choudhury till 5 PM till the final hearing is pronounced”.

“Still Police have done this, thus, police have violated court’s order. Police simply have thrown challenge to the court. Whoever are involved in this illegal raid, action likely against them in coming days”, said Barman.

CPI-M Melarmath Party Office was raided illegally by Police today in search of Badal Choudhury amid District judge ordered police not to arrest Choudhury before 4.30 PM.

Tripura CPI-M General Secretary Gautam Das addressing media said that the former Minister appealed in the District Court demanded anticipatory bail but police could not file any proper FIR with evidence against Badal Choudhury.
