AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): BJP led State Govt has introduced first ever Puja Carnival on Dasami like West Bengal which was introduced by Mamata Banerjee at there. BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav was present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb with wife Niti Deb was present on that occasion, witnessed the Carnival proceeding.

The carnival had participants from Agartala and its adjoining areas parading down from Paradise Chowmuhani to Dasami-Ghat, showcasing their idols in a colourful show of gaiety and grandeur.

Chief Minister Biplab Deb, members of diplomatic corps and other distinguished persons were present at the function.

This is the most important puja of this state and as per the information, so far 2459 clubs have registered under police permission.

Out of them 869 pujas held in urban areas whereas 1590 pujas held in rural areas.

Total 503 pujas were held in Agartala and besides there were large numbers of puja  observed in houses. 

Total 9250 police personnel have been deployed like last year puja. Of this, 5150 are from TSR and 4100 are from police. 345 police mobiles are being moving throughout the states for security purpose.
