Vijaya Dashami celebrated at Durga Bari before Ma Durga leaves for husband Shiva's abode

AGARTALA, Oct 8 (TIWN): Vijaya Dashami is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Demon Ravana and also the triumph of Goddess Durga over the buffalo Demon Mahishasura. At Durga Bari the Dasami puja celebrated since 8 AM.
Women who are married played with “sindoor” to mark traditional “Sindoor Khela”.
Vijayadashami is also known as Dussehra or Dasara. Vijaya Dashami is the celebration of righteousness over evil which is celebrated on the tenth day of the Hindu lunar month called Ashwin.
The idol of the Goddess Durga is worshipped for five days and on this day, the deity is believed to leave for her husband, Shiva's abode in the Himalayas.
