AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Oct 4 (TIWN): Heavy securities to remain deployed in state Tripura to ensure a peaceful celebration of Durga puja like every year, announced Tripura DGP A K Sukla. Addressing media, DGP A K Sukla said, “Police are ready for ensuring peaceful celebrations of Durga Puja. This is the most important puja of this state and as per the information, so far 2459 clubs have registered under police permission. Out of them 869 pujas are going to be held in urban areas whereas 1590 pujas will be held in rural areas. Total 503 pujas are going to be held in Agartala and besides there are large numbers of puja are to be observed in houses. Police will also ensure peaceful puja celebrations in houses by regular patrollingâ€.“Total 9250 police personnel have been deployed like last year puja. Of this, 5150 are from TSR and 4100 are from police. 345 police mobiles are moving throughout the statesâ€, he said. DGP said, there will be enough CCTV cameras which have been increased this year further.
Police assistance booths have been increased. At any law and order problem Additional DGP, SPs and high police officials will receive phone calls.
Durga puja celebrations have already started in Tripura with the offering of puja on Shasthi.
Across the state, specially in urban areas’ each corner sound-boxes have put in high volumes with Bengali songs with Durga puja theme, although in Tripura Hindus, Muslims and all communities regardless Tiprasa and Bengali jointly celebrate these days, which fall in Govt holidays till Laxmi puja. From Agartala Durga Bari to all clubs have observed Shashthi puja in the morning marking a beginning of auspicious Durga puja.
