AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on the occasion of 150th Gandhi Jayanti accused the first Prime Minister of India, Freedom Fighter Jawaharlal Nehru for not following “Gandhism†but following “Socialismâ€, alleging this wrong decision of Jawaharlal Nehru is responsible for India’s distressed economy and reason why India could not stand on its own feet.
“Mahatma Gandhi talked about giving more power to Panchayats. He wanted an Education system which would not just a way for employment but to make people self-dependent. But sadly, although Mahatma Gandhi told the first PM about his vision for nation but the then Prime Minister did not follow that. Otherwise India would had been a totally developed country already”, said CM.
“If Mahatma Gandhi’s ideologies were followed, then house to house jobs could be available today. People must had become job creators at a large number”, said CM.
Deb also blamed Jawaharlal Nehru for not giving importance to Mahatma Gandhi’s suggestion of small scale industries development and said, Gandhi’s vision for economy was started to be implemented by PM Modi.
