TIWN Oct 2, 2019
AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Oct 2 (TIWN): Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has revealed its monthly data for Indian unemployment rate for September-2019, listing Tripura at the top position in unemployment rate with 31.2%. Indian national unemployment rate is 7.3% and among 29 states, Tripura has bagged the top position this time. Tripura constantly has remained at the top position in unemployment rate, although in August, 2019 it dropped in the second position with 26.4% but this month it jumped at top position with 31.2%.
Delhi is now in second position in unemployment rate with 20.4% and Haryana is 3rd with 20.3%. (CMIE, or Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy, is a leading business information company. It was established in 1976, primarily as an independent think tank)
CMIE data has generated tension further when Tripura like many other states is reeling under economic crisis. If Central BJP Govt could fulfill the promise which it made before the Election about employment generation including 50,000 Govt jobs per year, the situation could be different and better.
National unemployment rate of India is much higher than World Unemployment rate and highest unemployment rate of India of last 50 years.
According to ILO the unemployment rate is only 4.95% at the world level and India’s unemployment rate is 7.3%.
Reacting over the unemployment rate National Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said, ‘Unemployment is now like bubbling lava, anytime to blast like a volcano”.
