AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): Govt of Tripura has set a target of Rs. 1,100 crores of profit from milk base industries in Tripura aimed to work under the vision of “Made in Tripuraâ€.
While addressing in a Daily fair in Agartala, Chief Minister Biplab Deb today said that every year Rs. 1100 crores of profits go out of the state as Tripura is fully dependent on outside markets for dairy products, but the state can be self-sufficient in milk industries by producing milk based items enough. Deb said, it will also help the Govt to strengthen the economy.
CM said, “Tripura is yet insufficient in milk industrialization, but if the previous Govt had taken care of the industry sectors and worked in the correct direction, the situation could be different today”.
Deb further motivated the state’s dairy farmers to boost their milk base industries so that people here do not have to depend upon other states’ products.
Biplab Deb added, “A state’s success depends on the revenue incomes which earlier was merely 9% whereas today it’s around 26%”.
