UDAIPUR (Tripura), Oct 1 (TIWN): Just a week back storms of controversy bared Tripura’s image after Police did not lodge FIR against Rapists due to Political pressure, Tripura police once again has allegedly displayed cowardliness by releasing criminals on political pressure. CPI-M alleged, Police HQ after being pressurized by BJP MP (via rigging) Pratima Bhowmik ordered Udaipur Police to release 3 accused who were caught in rapid violence followed by CPI-M’s rally at Udaipur on Monday. One day after accusing a gang-rape-victim as conspirator against BJP Govt, Pratima Bhowmik again has courted a fresh controversy for allegedly pressuring DGP to instruct Udaipur Police to release BJP’s three criminals. Opposition CPI-M has called Police “Backbone Less Police Force” ! As per CPI-M Party’s statement, “BJP’s 3 hooligans of Chanban named : 1) Babul Deb, 2) Ratan Saha, 3) Suman Roy Sarkar red-handed caught by Udaipur police on yesterday but released due to pressure from Pratima Bhowmik, DG today”.

“Three of these criminals were drunk and Police Officer (SDPO, IPS) conducted medical of these accused persons and were all set to send them to the court. But in the morning as soon as the matter was disclosed, BJP leaders started interference and at last Police DG was bound to interfere in the neutral activity of police after pressure came from Pratima Bhowmik”, said CPI-M.

“These miscreants also attacked house to house on yesterday after a rally of CPI-M successfully gathered mass crowd”, said CPI-M in its social media page.

A victim whose house was vandalized told media, “The day before the rally, we were threatened not to go in rallies and we did not go. We are poor people. But in evening when I arrived in home and was ready to take my meal, Mantu along with miscreants broke the door and started vandalizing, threw all food items and items outside.

Calling police “backboneless” is significant when this is the same BJP leader who threatened another IPS Officer on 12 April, 2019 Kiran Kumar saying, “Maar dalega tereko abhi” and “Tera Sasur…khogaya” like slang phrases but since then police did not take any action and this is the development of inspiring criminals including Rapists.

At Udaipur yesterday there was a massive rally of CPI-M led by former CM Manik Sarkar. After the rally this violence has taken place, whereas Minister and local MLA Pranajit Singha Roy is silent over the issue.
