AGARTALA, Sep 29 (TIWN): Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb on Saturday has announced, he held a meeting with the central Home Minister Amit Shah and offered Tripura’s two State Battalions to be granted by the Central Home Ministry.
He said, when the State Rifles of Tripura will be given to the Centre then their salaries will be drawn from the Centre and in that place new two Battalions to be established so that unemployed get jobs.
Central Home Ministry has also given green signal to the proposal.
Deb also has also urged Union Home Minister to complete the border fencing work along the India-Bangladesh frontiers to curb smuggling of drugs and other contrabands, illegal cross border movement and crimes. According to Border Security Force (BSF) officials, the various agencies engaged by the government have completed the fencing work on 790 km of the total stretch of the state’s 856 km-long international border with Bangladesh.
