AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): Many media houses are slamming Congress party for Badharghat by-election’s poor results, but Congress is not a loser as Ratan Das who has gotten 9,111 votes this time in By-Election, in 2018 the main Assembly Election he got only 505 votes.
BJP’s late MLA Dilip Sarkar won the election with 28,561 whereas CPI-M’s Jharna Das got 23,113 votes and only 505 votes were bagged by Ratan Das from Congress which is merely 0.95%.
If compared to the Assembly election BJP, CPI-M both parties vote banks have been downed.
This time BJP got 20,471 (44%), decreased from 53.84% in 2018-Assembly Election 2018 and CPI-M has scored 15212 votes (33.12%), whereas in 2018-Assembly Election it was 43.57%.
However, CPI-M and Congress together got more vote thank BJP signaling an alliance can benefit both parties to unseat the BJP.
