AGARTALA, Sep 27 (TIWN): BJP spokespersons on Thursday have hit Tripura’s former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar for his visit in hospital to meet the gang-rape victim of Usha-Bazar lined jungle area incident citing examples of CPI-M era’s rape incidents.
BJP said, nobody should be indulged in dirty politics with rape incidents, rather all should stand beside the victim.
However, report says, BJP leaders did not meet the rape-victim unless the issue was disclosed and on the day-1 the opposition leaders regardless CPI-M, Congress visited the hospital after which ruling party bound to interfere.
The main point of the argument is, under a ruling MLA’s pressure four police stations denied to lodge FIR and when she was admitted in TMC led the news spread across social media, condemned by the opposition, then only East Agartala Women PS allegedly lodged FIR. Police under MLA Bahubali’s threat misbehaved with the rape victims.
6 out of 10 rapists were arrested but 2 already sent under Juvenile justice board.
