AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Sep 26 (TIWN): After Congress leader Subal Bhowmik attacked Tripura Congress former President Pradyot Manikya over his recent resignation accusing him as Pro-BJP, Pradyot Maniya counterattacked Bhowmik saying, rather than personal attacks, Bhowmik must look at his own drawbacks who has recently resigned BJP to join Congress.
Pradyot Manikya informed TIWN that all the allegations leveled against him are baseless, neither him nor his mother met Amit Shah nor they have any plan to join BJP or function as 2nd fiddle to BJP Govt. Pradyot asked Congress leaders to focus on building their support base rather than attacking him for personal benefits.
In his facebook page Pradyot Manikya slammed the Congress leader and posted, “Trivia Question 1) Which politician left the congress after 2013 and formed a political party and then merged his party with BJP ? Also went for a RSS training camp and then joined the Congress party back again after being denied a lok sabha ticket from BJP ? And Today he is sermonising all of us in a press conference ! Oh yes and in between there was a fling with Trinamool as well !”
Pradyot Manikya’s family background has been dedicated for National Congress and he himself served in Congress for long 19 years. Indeed, his resignation shocked a major section of Congress supporters.
Recently after becoming Party President apart from NRC there were few contrasts erupted in the party office due to alleged groupism of the State Congress over President post.
The statement came from Pradyot Manikya after Subal Bhowmik attacked him, linking him with the BJP’s future regional party leader saying, “BJP is backing Pradyot Deb Barman as a future alternative of IPFT”.
Pradyot Manikya has rubbished the allegation as “baseless” and “imaginary”.
“If I wanted to join BJP, I could in 2018 when BJP leaders came to my residence and offered Chief Minister’s post”, added Manikya.
