AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): CPI-M’s youth wings held a massive protest rally in Agartala city, slamming the BJP Govt over the gang-rape incident at Usha Bazar.
The protest basically instigated as it was exposed that four police stations’ OCs did not lodge any FIR, rather harassed the victim family due to pressures came from a ruling party MLA. CPI-M demanded arrest of the MLA too.
Till now, 6 out of 10 persons were arrested but police neither have shown their faces nor disclosed their names. Four accused identified as Pradip Das (26), Bishal Das (20), Priyamanish Roy (26) and Ajoy Saha (20). No police official was suspended so far. Congress displayed banner, “Save my Dignity, You’re your daughter”.
CPI-M’s protest march has taken a Jungi-michil turn voicing against the brutal gang-rape and police’s no-cooperation with the victim family.
They raised slogan, “BJP Govt dhik dhik, BJP Govt haay haay…..” as Police didn’t lodge FIR in the rape incident until the issue turned burning across social media and condemnation began throughout Tripura.
