AGARTALA, Sep 26 (TIWN): When high pitches of propaganda are beating political drums saying, crime against women have drastically decreased in Tripura, law and order situations are proven again and again down in the state. Reportedly 240 rapes, 117 minor girls’ rapes, 3 murders after rapes’ cases were registered from 2018 April to 2019 July month. In a prominent place like Agartala which has been ranked second in smart city yet to be installed with enough CCTV cameras resulted 10 persons led gang-rape of a housewife brutally, horrifying the state with fresh-injuries, when just a month back another woman via Battala auto was gang-raped and attempted to be murdered. Moreover, after yesterday’s brutal incident when a housewife was gang-raped, an MLA (widely known as Bahubali) allegedly has threatened three police stations via phone asking not to lodge any FIR against the rapists. The incident disclosed to media after almost 24 hours when the survived victim was under treatment in critical situation at the TMC hospital.Doctors and staffs said such a brutal case never was handled in that hospital. As per the last report, 4 persons have been arrested so far.

Resentment brewed against police role as police's role as police reportedly misbehaved with the victim’s family and only case was registered after it took a political turn and opposition leaders started visiting the hospital, almost after 24 hours of the incident. 

The survived rape victim who is fighting with death now at TMC Hospital, while talking to media  describe how brutally she was raped and each rapist raped her multiple times after she was taken to a jungle in a pre-plan way via an auto in which she was riding to go to home.

At first she took the auto at GB to reach her home at Arundhuti Nagar and the known driver took the auto towards Nehru park. When she asked, the driver said, a person will give him money and thus he taking the auto there but as soon as the driver reached near Nehru park and called someone in phoned named Santu, two men came and sat in the auto and pressed her mouth.

 Pradip, Basu, Akash, Santu : These four persons' names could be traced from the survived rape-victim. 

The auto ran in high speed and entered a jungle and then she could not recognize the spot. She was threatened to be murdered on spot and brutally gang-raped her.

After rape, she was thrown on the street on Agartala, from where after her consciousness returns she managed to call at her home.

One MLA, popularly known as Bahubali is trying hard to save the rapists. Against Bahubali there are multiple FIRs whereas police could not taken any action amid High Court's interference. Opposition has demanded arrest of this MLA for threatening police stations.
